چکیده

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of decreasing concentrations dietary neutral detergent fiber (NDF) at high rumen undegradable protein (RUP) on performance, digestibility, chewing activity, blood attributes, and carcass characteristics in 32 weaned male Afshari lambs (90 days age; 26 kg initial body weight; BW). Dietary metabolic energy (ME) increased from 10.6–11.5 11.8 MJ/kg dry matter (DM) by replacing alfalfa hay with grain achieve NDF 270, 245, 220 g/kg DM, respectively, 66.6 DM RUP. The control (CON) diet contained 10.9 ME, 270 59.6 RUP basis. Rations containedsimilar crude (CP, 160 DM). Lambs were slaughtered after a 56-d feeding period. increase had no BW average daily gain (ADG) but tended decrease apparent digestibility CP significantlydecreasedplasma urea concentration, content. Effect of Diet Physical Form on Performance and Diet Digestibility in Finishing Fat-Tailed Lambs

This study was conducted in two experiments to evaluate the dietary physical form on dry matter intake (DMI), performance, carcass traits and nutrient digestibility from Kalkuhy (an Iranian fat–tailed breed) male lambs. Initial lamb body weight (BW) average was, 32 .81 ± 2 kg, and 110 ± 10 days of age. Three treatments (diet physical form) included T1: total mixture diet (TMR) mixed diet (MD), ...

Intake and milk production of cows fed diets that differed in dietary neutral detergent fiber and neutral detergent fiber digestibility.

The objectives of this study were to determine how feeding diets that differed in dietary neutral detergent fiber (NDF) concentration and in vitro NDF digestibility affects dry matter (DM) intake, ruminal fermentation, and milk production in early lactation dairy cows. Twelve rumen-cannulated, multiparous Holstein cows averaging 38 +/- 15 d (+/-standard deviation) in milk, and producing 40 +/- ...

Effects of Varying Levels of Oxidized Fat and Copper Sulfate on Broiler Performance, Carcass Traits, Blood Metabolites and Immune Cells

This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of different levels of oxidized fat (yellow grease) and copper sulfate on performance, carcass traits, blood metabolites and immune cells of broilers. This study was carried out as a 3 × 2 factorial experiment with 3 levels of oxidized fat (0, 2 and 4%) and 2 levels of copper sulfate (0 and 300 mg/kg) in 6 treatments, 3 replicates and 12 ...

Effects of supplementary feeding on growth and carcass characteristics of fat-tailed lambs grazing cereal stubble

Despite a shortage of animal feed in Iran, cereal stubble is often underutilized due to agro-economic reasons. On the other hand, lambs fed with a conventional fattening ration deposit a considerable amount of fat; therefore, this experiment was conducted aimed at better utilization of cereal stubble and reducing the fat content of lamb carcasses. Fat-tailed Mehraban and Ghezel ram lambs were p...
